• 2012 Spring Break Rowing Camp

  Pack up your duffles and get ready for a return to Spring Break in Oak Ridge, Tennessee!

  This is for rowers who have met their coach's Winter Training requirements only.

  Bus departure will be on Saturday, April 7 from SICP (time TBD) with arrival at the camp that afternoon. Rowers will have a chance to get in their best shape ever as they practice daily with ICC coaches. 

   

  Buses will then leave Friday, April 13 for a regatta yet to be determined. At this time, return to Chicago will be on Saturday, April 14th. Please check back soon for updates.

  Parent chaperones will be present.

• Greater Chicago Junior Rowing Championships

  The Crystal Lake Rowing Club hosts the Greater Chicago Junior Rowing Championships on the 1st Saturday of May. The regatta's purpose is to hold a Chicagoland championship that leads up to the Midwest Junior Rowing Championships and Midwest Scholastic Championships.  

  No hotel or bus transportation necessary. Parent carpools suggested.

  Driving Directions:

  Coming from I-90:

  1. Regardless which direction on I-90 you are coming from, take the Randall Rd. exit. Randall Rd is west of the Fox river and the IL-31 exit as well as east of the US-20 exit by Hampshire. Go north on Randall Rd. when exiting the highway.

  2. You will pass by Algonquin, Lake in the Hills, and then come to a Y intersection with a stop light. If you are going to the lake, you need to take a left (use the turn lane) onto McHenry Ave. If you are going to hotels in the Crystal Lake area, go straight on Rakow Rd. and continue to Rt. 31.

  3. Take McHenry Ave until you get to US-14 (Virginia St). Make a left turn.

  4. If you have a boat trailer, you need to go through the next light (Dole Ave), then take a left onto Lake Shore Drive (see Landmark Map below for more detail). Use both lanes to make sure traffic does not try to get around you while turning. All other visitors need to take a left onto Dole Ave.

  Bus transportation will be provided to depart from SICP following dismissal on Friday, 4/11. Return is scheduled for the evening of Sunday, 4/13.

• Scholastic Rowing Assoc. of America National Championship Regatta

  May 24-27, 2012 Camden, NJ

  This regatta is for qualified rowers only, selected by the coaches.

  The 2012 SRAA Regatta will be held Memorial Day weekend on the Cooper River in Camden, NJ. The local organizing committee will be the South Jersey Rowing Club.

  Flight departure will be on Thursday morning, May 24th. Practice will commence on Thursday afternoon. Race heats will be 5/25. Semi-finals and finals are 5/26. Flight departure for Chicago will be Sunday evening, May 27th.
